Infrared Thermal Imaging Inspection

Infrared Thermal Imaging is an advanced, non-invasive technology that allows inspectors to show clients things about their home that can't be revealed using conventional inspection methods. It can help identify things like roof leaks, plumbing problems, electrical issues, and energy loss.

Hess Home Inspection is an InterNACHI Infrared Certified company. Contact us today to get a certified thermal inspection for $150. Thermal inspections are INCLUDED in a standard home inspection!

What You See
Hess Home Inspection of hallway ceiling with Infrared Thermal Imaging - shows energy loss in attic.
What I See
In these two photos you're seeing energy escaping through a wall. Upon entering the attic, we discovered it was due to fallen insulation. Money being wasted! Easy fix, but if you don't know it's there, it's draining your pocket book! Infrared inspection is an invaluable tool we use to inspect your home.

Infrared Thermal Imaging Helps Save Money And Find Problem Areas

Hess Home Inspection of entry door with Infrared Thermal Imaging showing thermal energy loss.
This is a beautiful and charming wood door, but it's a huge energy loss! If you don't want to lose the charm of your old home there are four easy ways to help reduce energy loss:
  • Seal gaps with caulk.
  • Replace/add weather stripping.
  • Add a full glass storm door.
  • Add custom framed glass over existing glazing.
Hess Home Inspection of toilet with Infrared Thermal Imaging showing hot water hooked up not cold.
Here's a toilet that has the hot water supplied to it instead of the cold. Talk about flushing money down the toilet! Certainly not intentional, but people make mistakes. Infrared Thermal Imaging is another great tool we use to help find issues with your investment.

Is the in-floor heat working? It takes a significantly long time to tell if a concrete floor is heating up. You won't notice that when you walk through the house. We have the tools and training to verify it does during the inspection. Don't hope everything works, find out for sure.
